Despite reports that Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz were expecting a boy, Pete says they don???t know the baby???s sex yet, but are hoping to find out in the next couple of weeks. They must have picked out all that blue stuff because they prefer the color. Or hate Pink. Which doesn???t make any sense, because I can really imagine both those people wearing a lot of hot fuchsia for some reason.

Pete also says Ashlee is having the usual pregnancy cravings, including a lot of army green colored food.

What’s mom-to-be Ashlee Simpson craving these days? “Green olives and pickles!” her husband Pete Wentz revealed on Ryan Seacrest’s KIIS-FM radio show Thursday. “Green olives on everything!” He called her cravings an “anytime kind-of-thing. You always have to be ready.”

He said the pregnancy is “really, really exciting. “I heard women become mothers when they become pregnant, and boys become fathers when the baby is born,” Wentz, 29, said. “So I don’t feel all the physical things, but when I’m in the doctor’s office, I freak out. It’s … crazy because it’s this thing you made.” He said they still don’t know the baby’s sex, but is “hoping the doctor will see something in the next couple weeks.”

He also joked that he is turning into his dad. “I get up at 7 … complain,” he said. “I come home [to] a pregnant wife and two puppies.” But Wentz (who admitted he made out with guys) doesn’t mind. He said his new goal is to “live in the suburbs and hang out with my kid.”

It kinda creeps me out that 29-year-old Pete still refers to himself as a boy. Somehow the idea of him being a dad just doesn???t make sense to me. I think it???s the combination of his smile and that ???boy??? thing. Not that Ashlee Simpson seems really motherly, but I can imagine that a little easier that Pete Wentz playing soccer with his kid. He and Ashlee do seem really happy and solid though, and that obviously counts a lot.
